The best time to visit Kanha National Park could be different for every visitor as it depends upon the mind-set with which he/she is visiting the park. As visitors comes with interest of wildlife photography, tiger photography, enjoy the lush green jungle, to do bird-watching or just to cover a wildlife destination. As per the climate of Madhya Pradesh, the peak season for Kanha National Park visit is the winter season i.e., from October to February. Otherwise, there is no such thing as "the best time" to visit the National Park of Kanha. You can also visit the park during the starting days of the summer season, as the rolling grassland of kanha gets dried and its better chance to see the wild animals and birds near the waterholes and ponds. The tiger sightsighting gets increased during the summer as it always rest near the marshy meadows of Kanha National Park.

During the monsoon season, there is a good visibility of rare reptiles in Kanha park. As their natural prey is available in abundance. Some of the commonly seen reptiles in Kanha are Chameleon, common crait, snake skink etc.

The Sighting of sloth bear is often increased during the month of February and April, as it is the time when flowers in Indian Butter Tree and its fruits is available in jungle for consumption.
